Bo Johansson, a figure described by Västerbottens-Kuriren as a coaching legend, has died. The Swedish newspaper reported his death on Thursday, October 15, 2026.
The Västerbottens-Kuriren headline calls Johansson a "tränarlegendaren" — a coaching legend — a description that points to a long and notable career in Swedish sport. The paper's report did not include further details in the material available.
Because the initial report is brief, many specifics about Johansson's life and career remain unconfirmed in the source material. His full name, age, the date and place of death, and the teams or athletes he worked with are not stated in the headline and summary reviewed here.
What is clear is that a Swedish news outlet considered his passing significant enough to lead with it, and framed his standing in the word reserved for the most accomplished figures in the profession.
Additional coverage is expected as other Swedish outlets pick up the story. Readers looking for a fuller picture of Johansson's career and the circumstances of his death should watch for follow-up reporting from Västerbottens-Kuriren and other Swedish publications in the coming days.
