Real Madrid face Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday, 18 October, in the ninth round of fixtures of LALIGA EA Sports 2026/27. DAZN published both teams' starting elevens and substitute benches ahead of kick-off. The match is available to watch on Movistar+.
Madrid go into the game after a 1-0 win over Villarreal, while Sevilla arrive following a 3-3 draw with Levante.
Why it matters
The fixture is Madrid's first since their narrow victory over Villarreal, and José Mourinho's selection carries several notable calls. Endrick is handed a starting place, Valverde is deployed at full-back and Güler returns to the eleven, according to EL PAÍS. Those three decisions shape how Madrid line up in front of their home crowd as they look to build on the Villarreal result.
For Sevilla, Luis García Plaza's side travel to the capital after a high-scoring draw with Levante, and the team sheet published by DAZN shows the players he has chosen to start and the options he has held in reserve.
How the two sides line up
According to DAZN, Madrid's starting eleven is: Courtois; Valverde, Konaté, Huijsen, Cucurella; Tchouaméni, Güler; Diomande, Bellingham, Endrick and Mbappé.
The Madrid bench, as listed by DAZN, comprises Lunin, Javi Navarro, Militão, Camavinga, Trent, Carreras, Espí, Bernardo Silva, Brahim, Rüdiger, Dumfries and Thiago.
Sevilla's team sheet, per DAZN, reads: Fran González, Rafa Romero, Julio Díaz, Alfon, Sangante, Manu Bueno, Cardoso, Stassin, Ejuke, Carmona, Nico Guillén and Jesús Cruz. DAZN presented this group as the Sevilla lineup for the match; the outlet's published list did not separate starters from substitutes in the material available.
Context around the team sheets
The DAZN report frames the selections as the confirmed elevens and benches for both coaches, Mourinho for Madrid and García Plaza for Sevilla. The outlet's headline describes the lineups as the starting eleven and substitute bench for each manager.
EL PAÍS, in its live coverage of the match, highlighted three elements of Madrid's selection: Endrick making his first start, Valverde filling the full-back role, and Güler coming back into the starting side. Those details align with the eleven DAZN published.
Madrid's own club website previewed the fixture as a chance to extend the team's winning run at the Bernabéu. The club's match page did not include lineup details in the material reviewed.
What to watch
Kick-off at the Bernabéu will show whether Mourinho's reshuffled eleven — with Endrick up front alongside Mbappé and Bellingham, and Valverde in defence — delivers the result Madrid want as they seek to keep their home run going.
