Nigeria's National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two Nigerians based in Europe after they were found carrying 200 wraps of cocaine, according to Premium Times Nigeria. The arrests took place at the airport in Abuja, the country's capital.

According to Premium Times Nigeria, the two men had swallowed the wraps before attempting to travel. Reports describe them as presenting themselves as businessmen heading to Europe. The NDLEA's own announcement referred to the pair as Europe-bound "businessmen" who excreted the wraps at the Abuja airport.

Coverage of the case appeared across several Nigerian outlets, including Punch Newspapers, Sahara Reporters and Vanguard News. Vanguard reported that the NDLEA also arrested a woman in Abuja found with 266 rounds of AK-47 ammunition in a related operation.

The case adds to a long pattern of drug couriers attempting to move narcotics through Nigerian airports by concealing them inside their bodies. The NDLEA has not, in the material available, disclosed the exact quantity of cocaine by weight, the identities of the suspects, or the specific charges they may face.

What to watch next: whether the NDLEA files charges against the two men and the woman, and whether the agency releases further details on the weight of the seized cocaine and the outcome of its investigation.
