Diario AS reported that Kylian Mbappé said he felt full solidarity with Ceuta but did not want to place the suffering of others in second place. Spain's minister Sira Rego praised Mbappé's position, describing his gesture as one of solidarity with Ceuta and with migrants, El Confidencial and ABC reported. ABC said Rego thanked him "deeply" for the shirt supporting Ceuta.
Not everyone welcomed the gesture. MARCA reported that the Real Madrid supporters' club in Ceuta issued a response to Mbappé, Vinicius and Konaté over the shirts.
Pérez's visit places the club president in the city at the center of the episode, three days after it began. The reporting so far does not indicate what he plans to do there or whether he will meet with local officials or supporters.
