French tech outlet 01net.com is reporting that the Xiaomi 17T Pro is currently available at a 42% discount, a price drop the publication describes as remarkable. The deal was highlighted in an article published on Sunday, August 23, 2026, which suggests consumers consider selling their current iPhone or Galaxy devices to take advantage of the offer.
The report from 01net.com positions the discounted Xiaomi 17T Pro as a compelling alternative to flagship smartphones from Apple and Samsung. The outlet's headline frames the promotion as a strong incentive for users to switch platforms, given the significant reduction in price.
This news follows a pattern of aggressive Xiaomi pricing in the French market. According to related coverage aggregated by Google News, other retailers are also offering steep cuts on Xiaomi devices. 20 Minutes reported that Auchan is liquidating its Xiaomi inventory with three record-low price offers. Separately, 01net.com noted that the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is being sold at a 43% discount, and Les Numériques highlighted a 25% reduction on the standard Xiaomi 17 model, priced at €703.00.
Capital.fr has also weighed in on the value proposition of the Xiaomi 17, asking whether the device represents a good deal based on its testing. The collective reporting suggests a broader trend of significant price competition among Xiaomi's current lineup in France, particularly as the back-to-school season approaches.
For shoppers in the market for a new smartphone, the key question is whether these promotional prices will hold or deepen as retailers clear out existing stock ahead of new model launches. Given the rapid succession of discounts reported across multiple outlets, monitoring Xiaomi's pricing in the coming weeks could prove worthwhile for budget-conscious buyers.
