India batting coach VVS Laxman has identified fitness as the key area for 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to work on, according to The Times of India. Laxman said he wants the young batter to improve his overall fitness.
The comments came after Sooryavanshi’s breakout performance in India’s T20I series against Zimbabwe. The teenager scored a composed half-century in Harare, which Laxman described as a "very, very mature knock," as reported by Cricinfo.
Sooryavanshi, who made his international debut at age 15, has drawn attention for his batting ability. In the Zimbabwe series, he also set a world record for the youngest player to achieve a particular milestone, according to The Times of India. The batter himself called the experience a "dream come true," per Cricbuzz.

India won the T20I series against Zimbabwe, with Shreyas Iyer also contributing to the victory, as reported by Telegraph India. Laxman’s focus on Sooryavanshi’s fitness suggests the team management sees long-term potential in the youngster.
The next step for Sooryavanshi will be to build on his early success while addressing the fitness gaps Laxman highlighted.
