Vietnamese travelers are showing strong interest in Singapore for the upcoming National Day holiday, with the world’s second-richest country ranking among the most searched international destinations, according to VnExpress International.
The report, published Friday, comes as Vietnam prepares for its September 2 National Day celebrations, which this year include a five-day holiday period. Travel platforms and tourism officials are tracking search behavior to gauge demand for both domestic and international trips during the break.
VnExpress International’s findings indicate that Singapore, often cited as one of the wealthiest nations globally by GDP per capita, has captured the attention of Vietnamese holidaymakers planning trips abroad. The outlet did not specify which other destinations made the top search list or provide exact search volumes.
Domestically, Booking.com reported that Da Nang topped the list of searched destinations within Vietnam for the 2026 National Day holiday, according to Danang Fantasticity. The central coastal city is a perennial favorite for Vietnamese tourists, known for its beaches and attractions.
The holiday period, running from September 1-5, has prompted the tourism industry to diversify its offerings, Vietnam News Agency reported. Operators are expanding packages and activities to accommodate the expected surge in travelers.
In Ho Chi Minh City, authorities have scheduled a range of cultural and artistic events for September 2, as reported by Baolangson.vn. Meanwhile, Vietnam.vn noted that young people across the country will participate in a special flag-raising ceremony at 7:00 AM on September 2, adding a ceremonial element to the holiday.
What to watch next: Whether Singapore bookings translate into actual arrivals, and how domestic destinations like Da Nang manage the holiday rush.
