Train services in parts of Longyan have been disrupted by Typhoon Shadel, with some routes suspended and additional trains scheduled to help passengers, according to fj.chinanews.com.cn.

The report, published Friday, said the typhoon’s impact led to the cancellation of trains on certain sections of the rail network in the Longyan area. At the same time, authorities arranged extra services on some routes to cope with demand, the outlet added.

The disruption is part of a wider response to Typhoon Shadel across the region. Separate reports cited in the summary indicate that China Railway Nanchang Group activated a Level II emergency response for typhoon prevention, according to Phoenix News Jiangxi. The storm also affected rail travel in the Yangtze River Delta, where some trains running through the region were temporarily suspended, as reported by Sina Finance.

In a related development, the Ministry of Transport launched a Level II typhoon defense response and held targeted coordination calls with key areas, according to CCTV. Meanwhile, the Qiongzhou Strait resumed navigation after the effects of Typhoon Zitan weakened, as reported by Xinhua.

The situation in Longyan reflects the broader logistical challenges posed by consecutive storms in the region. While some services have been restored or supplemented, the full schedule remains subject to weather conditions.

What to watch next: Whether Typhoon Shadel’s path shifts further inland, potentially extending rail disruptions beyond Longyan and the Yangtze River Delta in the coming days.
