Jeongyeon, a member of the K-pop group TWICE, has left her longtime agency JYP Entertainment to focus on acting, according to The Korea Times. The singer has signed an exclusive contract with Varo Entertainment, a management firm known for representing actors, as reported by multiple South Korean outlets including Maeil Business Newspaper and Chosunbiz.

The move marks a formal transition for Jeongyeon, who will now work under her birth name, Yoo Jeong-yeon, in the acting industry. Varo Entertainment confirmed the new contract, with Korea JoongAng Daily noting that the artist is beginning a fresh chapter with the agency.

A notable detail of the signing is that Jeongyeon will be joining her sister, actress Gong Seung-yeon, who is already represented by Varo Entertainment. The two siblings will now share the same management company, a setup that could offer family support as Jeongyeon builds her acting career.

Jeongyeon debuted with TWICE in 2015 under JYP Entertainment and has been part of the group's major commercial success. While she has not announced a formal departure from the group, her new solo representation signals a shift in her professional priorities. The Korea Times reports that her exit from JYP is tied directly to her acting ambitions.

Industry observers will likely watch whether Jeongyeon's move prompts other K-pop idols to pursue parallel careers in acting with dedicated management firms. Her first acting project under Varo Entertainment has not yet been announced.
