The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Tropical Storm Luis could make landfall over Northern Luzon on Monday, according to a report by ABS-CBN. The storm has slightly weakened, but Signal No. 1 remains in effect in parts of Northern Luzon, the Philippine News Agency reported.

PAGASA has raised Signal No. 1 in Quezon Province as the storm approaches, according to the Inquirer.net. The state weather bureau has been tracking Luis as it moves toward the Philippine landmass, with forecasters warning of potential impacts across the northern regions.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has placed its personnel on alert and prepared food packs for distribution in areas that may be affected by the storm, SunStar reported. The agency's readiness comes as residents in the projected path brace for possible heavy rain and wind.

Philstar.com also reported that landfall in Northern Luzon is considered likely, aligning with PAGASA's forecast track. The storm's exact timing and intensity could still shift, but authorities are already taking precautionary measures.

Residents in Northern Luzon and Quezon Province should monitor local advisories as Luis approaches. PAGASA is expected to issue updated bulletins as the storm moves closer to land, and the public should stay informed through official channels.
