The Toronto International Film Festival has added several high-profile titles to its 2026 lineup, including new films from Martin McDonagh and Werner Herzog, according to Deadline.
The festival will premiere McDonagh's Wild Horse Nine and Herzog's Bucking Fastard, alongside a new project from actor-director Cody Fern. The additions were announced as part of the festival's full schedule, which is now live, per TIFF's official site.
Deadline reports that the expanded program also includes a film titled The Idiot(s), though details on its director and cast were not included in the announcement. The Hollywood Reporter notes that these three filmmakers round out the festival's lineup, with IndieWire adding that the festival has also revealed its full "In Conversation With" series.
The Toronto International Film Festival is scheduled to run later this year, with the full schedule now available on the festival's website. The new additions join a slate that has been gradually unveiled over recent weeks, with NOW Toronto noting that the schedule drop was expected for Tuesday.

McDonagh is known for films such as Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and The Banshees of Inisherin, while Herzog has directed documentaries and features for decades, including Grizzly Man and Fitzcarraldo. Fern has appeared in series like American Horror Story and Ratched.
The festival's programming team has not yet released full details on the plots or cast for the newly announced films. As TIFF continues to roll out its 2026 program, attendees can expect further announcements on gala presentations and special events in the coming weeks.
