The Tagou Martial Arts School delivered a performance themed around the five elements at the opening ceremony of the 15th Henan Provincial Games, according to hnjjbs.com. The event took place in Anyang, a city in central China's Henan province.

The ceremony also marked the start of the 9th Henan Provincial Games for People with Disabilities, as reported by People's Daily Online. China Daily noted that the opening featured themes tied to oracle bone inscriptions, reflecting Anyang's historical significance as a site of ancient Chinese writing.

According to Sohu, more than 200 martial arts students from Henan were preparing to carry the games' flag during the ceremony. The Tagou school, based in the province, is known for training performers for large-scale events and has a history of appearing at national and international showcases.

The Henan Provincial Games are a multi-sport competition held every four years, bringing together athletes from across the province. This year's edition, the 15th, combines the main games with a separate event for disabled athletes, a structure that has been in place in recent cycles.

The opening ceremony in Anyang also drew corporate involvement, with China Net reporting that China CITIC Bank linked a promotional campaign to the games, encouraging public participation in sports.

The games are expected to run over several weeks, with competitions across various disciplines. The focus now shifts to athletic performances and whether the event can build on the cultural pageantry of its opening.
