Southern Score Builders has secured an RM105 million electrical works package for a data centre project in Puncak Alam, Selangor, according to BusinessToday Malaysia. The subcontract was awarded to the construction firm, which is part of the Southern Cable group.
The scope of work covers electrical systems for the data centre development, BusinessToday Malaysia reports. The contract adds to Southern Score's mechanical and electrical (M&E) order book, which now stands at RM146.5 million following this win, as noted by The Malaysian Reserve.
The project is located in Puncak Alam, a town in Selangor's Kuala Selangor district, which has become an emerging hub for data centre development in Malaysia. The award comes as demand for digital infrastructure continues to grow across the country, driven by cloud services and artificial intelligence workloads.
Southern Score is the construction arm of Southern Cable, a listed cable manufacturer. The company has been expanding its presence in the data centre sector, which has become a key growth area for Malaysian builders and electrical contractors.
The contract win was announced on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, with the company confirming the award to the stock exchange. Financial details beyond the contract value were not disclosed in the reports.
This latest award signals continued momentum for Southern Score in the high-value data centre segment. Investors will likely watch for further contract announcements as the company works through its growing order book and as more data centre projects break ground in Selangor and neighbouring states.
