The peak of a meteor shower visible from the Southern Hemisphere is set to occur between Thursday and Friday, according to Brazilian news outlet G1. The outlet provided tips for observers hoping to catch the celestial event.
G1 reported that the peak activity will take place on Thursday, July 30, and Friday, July 31. The outlet advised viewers to find a dark location away from city lights and to allow their eyes time to adjust to the darkness for the best chance of seeing the meteors.
Other Brazilian outlets, including Folha de S.Paulo and SBT News, also covered the event, with Folha confirming the peak dates. A report from VEJA noted that a double meteor shower show would be partially obscured by the moon, though G1’s primary focus was on viewing guidance. The G1 article did not specify which meteor shower is involved, but the timing aligns with the Southern Delta Aquariids, which typically peak in late July.

For those in the Southern Hemisphere, the best viewing window will be late Thursday night into early Friday morning, weather permitting.
