Smilegate will release Season 4 of its game Kazena on July 29, introducing a new fighter named Hilde, according to 게임뷰. The update arrives amid ongoing adjustments to game balance and player convenience.
The Season 4 launch follows a period of controversy. 게임톡 reported that Smilegate apologized for balance issues in Season 3, specifically regarding the "Persona Card" and "Equipment Engraving" systems, which were significantly nerfed. The developer later reversed some of those nerfs after player backlash. In a separate statement, Smilegate said it would increase the number of staff dedicated to balance testing, 게임톡 noted.
게임뷰's report highlights that Season 4 focuses on long-term stability. The developer aims to improve convenience features alongside balance tuning, according to inven.co.kr. This suggests Smilegate is prioritizing player satisfaction and game health over short-term changes.
The addition of Hilde marks the first new fighter of Season 4. No further details on her abilities or role were provided in the available reporting. Players can expect the update to go live on July 29. The community will likely watch closely to see if Smilegate's promised balance improvements hold up in practice.
