Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation said two attacks targeted facilities at Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport, Al Jazeera reported on Wednesday.

According to Al Jazeera, the Saudi aviation body announced the strikes in a statement carried by the outlet. The report did not specify the type of attack or the extent of damage to the two airports.

Saudi newspaper Sabaq reported that the two attacks left three people dead and 36 injured, citing the civil aviation authority. Al Arabiya reported that those killed included a Sudanese national, a Moroccan woman and an Algerian woman, in attacks it linked to the airports in Riyadh and Abha.

CNN Arabic reported that the United Arab Emirates suspended flights after what it described as continued Houthi targeting of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Press Agency separately reported that the kingdom's foreign minister held a phone call with his Jordanian counterpart.

The accounts differ in emphasis: Al Jazeera and Sabaq focused on the airport facilities and casualties, while Al Arabiya named the nationalities of the dead and CNN Arabic framed the attacks as part of a broader pattern of Houthi strikes. CYBEV.io could not independently verify the casualty figures or the identity of those responsible.

Details on the scale of damage at either airport, the weapon used, or whether operations were suspended remain unclear from the reporting available. Further statements from Saudi authorities, and confirmation of the casualty toll, are the next points to watch.
