Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S26 FE, confirming that the smartphone will use the Exynos 2500 chipset in all regions, according to GSMArena.com. The device was announced on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with availability expected to follow in global markets, including India.
The decision to use the Exynos 2500 everywhere marks a shift from Samsung’s recent practice of splitting its Fan Edition lineup between its own silicon and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. GSMArena.com reports that the chipset choice is uniform across all versions of the phone, meaning buyers in every market will get the same performance foundation.
Samsung’s global newsroom described the Galaxy S26 FE as a device that delivers a flagship-level experience while focusing on core priorities. The company has positioned the phone as a more accessible alternative to its premium Galaxy S26 models, retaining key features such as the Exynos 2500 processor and extended software support.
The Times of India and 91mobiles.com both covered the launch, with the latter highlighting that the phone comes with seven years of Android upgrades. That commitment aligns the FE model with Samsung’s long-term update policy for its higher-end devices, giving buyers a longer usable lifespan than typical mid-range phones.

Investing.com India noted that the Galaxy S26 FE arrives with a price increase compared to its predecessor. Samsung has not detailed the exact reasons for the higher cost, but the inclusion of the Exynos 2500 and the extended support window are likely contributing factors.
The Galaxy S26 FE is now official, and the next point of interest will be how Samsung positions the device against competing mid-premium phones in the coming months.
