Saitama Prefecture is bracing for a possible linear rain band that could form within the next three hours, according to 埼玉新聞. The warning comes as a large storm system moves toward the region, prompting officials to issue level 3 flood warnings for three cities.

Level 4 danger warnings remain in effect across wide areas of the prefecture, the newspaper reported. The alerts indicate a high risk of flooding and landslides as intense rainfall continues to accumulate.

The warnings were issued Thursday afternoon, with authorities closely monitoring the situation. According to 埼玉新聞, evacuation orders may be issued tonight in areas under the level 3 flood warning. Residents in affected zones have been urged to stay alert and prepare to move to higher ground if instructed.

In a related development, TBS NEWS DIG reported that level 4 heavy rain danger warnings were issued for Yashio and Misato cities as of 6:33 p.m. local time. These warnings represent the second-highest alert level, signaling an immediate threat to life from flooding or landslides.

The Japan Meteorological Agency and the Edogawa River Office jointly issued a flood forecast for the Edogawa River, according to 沖縄タイムス社. The river, which forms part of the boundary between Saitama and neighboring prefectures, could see water levels rise significantly.

Meanwhile, FNN Prime Online reported that a linear rain band may also develop over southern Ibaraki Prefecture, which borders Saitama to the east. Such bands produce prolonged, stationary downpours that can cause rapid flooding.

Officials are watching the storm's path closely. Residents should monitor local alerts and be ready to evacuate on short notice if conditions worsen.
