Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland are set to face each other when Norway host Portugal in the UEFA Nations League on 27 September 2026, according to Jornal de Notícias. The Portuguese newspaper framed the fixture as a meeting between the veteran striker it calls the still-reigning king of goals and the Norwegian forward it describes as the prince regent. The match will be played in Oslo.
Coverage of the game has centred on the two forwards. Jornal de Notícias led with the duel between them, while ESPN Brasil, ge.globo.com and netvasco.com.br have published match previews covering broadcast details, kick-off time, predicted line-ups and betting odds. Observador.pt, meanwhile, asked whether the Portugal national team is prepared to contain Norway. Those outlets did not provide further detail in the material available.
The fixture falls in the Nations League, the competition in which European national teams play league-phase matches. Norway are the hosts, giving Haaland home advantage in Oslo, while Ronaldo's Portugal travel. The reporting available does not include team news, form, standings or any comments from either player or from the coaches.
What to watch next: the confirmed line-ups and kick-off time, and whether the match itself settles the debate the Portuguese press has framed around the two strikers.
