Paris Saint-Germain are facing questions about their early preseason form after a heavy defeat in a recent friendly, according to reports from the Manchester United Website and FotMob. The match, part of PSG’s summer preparation schedule, has drawn attention from observers tracking how the squad is shaping up ahead of the new campaign.
The Manchester United Website, which covered the state of PSG’s squad, noted that the French club’s preseason progress is being monitored closely, particularly given the caliber of opposition they are facing. FotMob reported that PSG head coach Luis Enrique responded to the heavy loss with a measured tone, saying the result was “to be expected” during this stage of preparation. Enrique appeared unmoved by the scoreline, suggesting that fitness and tactical experimentation take priority over results in these early friendlies.
beIN SPORTS also weighed in on what comes next for PSG after their first preseason friendly, indicating that the club’s focus is on building momentum rather than dwelling on a single result. A separate roundup from LiveScore highlighted ongoing daily developments around the team, though no specific roster or tactical changes were detailed in the available material.
PSG’s preseason schedule includes a friendly against Mallorca, with BBC noting that stats and head-to-head records for that fixture are available for fans and analysts. The heavy loss mentioned by FotMob appears to have occurred before that upcoming match, leaving room for the squad to adjust.
The key takeaway for followers of the club is that early results may not reflect the final product. With Enrique prioritizing preparation over immediate outcomes, the next friendly against Mallorca will offer a clearer signal of whether PSG are correcting course or still finding their rhythm.
