Szymon Hołownia said on Saturday that the board of Poland 2050 has decided to remove Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz from the party. Hołownia announced the board's decision in a post on the platform X, according to Wiadomości Onet, which reported the development on 24 October 2026.

The announcement gave no further detail on the grounds for the move. Wiadomości Onet's account of the decision was limited to Hołownia's statement that the party board had taken it.

The expulsion drew reactions from other political figures. Zero.pl reported that Mentzen commented on Pełczyńska-Nałęcz's departure, saying that Tusk could publicly humiliate, mob her and insult her — remarks carried by that outlet and attributed to him here.

Gazeta reported that Cienkowska, responding to the resignation, said the party is not leaving the coalition. The wording of that statement, as carried by Gazeta, addressed the coalition's position rather than the expulsion itself.

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz also spoke publicly. WP Wiadomości reported that she told the outlet, in comments directed at the prime minister, to show courage and said these are not times of warm water in the tap — a remark carried by WP Wiadomości and quoted here as that outlet reported it.

Gazeta Prawna, meanwhile, published a piece on her assets, describing the former minister as having something to be proud of financially. That report did not bear directly on the party decision.

What to watch next: whether Poland 2050 or Pełczyńska-Nałęcz issues a fuller statement setting out the reasons for the removal, and whether the coalition partners address it further.
