A judicial commission investigating the murder of Karachi entrepreneur Mir Raza Ali has questioned his business partner over irregularities in the case, according to The Express Tribune.
The commission also recorded statements from the business partner and a taxi driver, as reported by Geo News. The questioning comes after the panel flagged serious lapses in the original murder investigation, per thenews.pk.
Mir Raza Ali, a Karachi-based entrepreneur, was killed under circumstances that initially raised questions. His family had petitioned for a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe his murder, but the Sindh High Court dismissed that plea, according to Dawn. A final postmortem report has since ruled out suicide, Arab News PK reported.

The judicial commission's focus on the business partner signals a deeper review of how the case was handled. The Express Tribune reports that the panel is examining irregularities tied to the business associate's involvement.
The commission has yet to issue a public report on its findings. Its next steps will determine whether the original probe is reopened or if new charges emerge against those questioned.
