Spain's ONCE organisation held its regular Cupón Diario draw on Wednesday 28 October 2026, the midweek edition of a game that runs from Monday to Thursday and offers a headline prize of 500,000 euros, according to EL PAÍS. The top award goes to the ticket matching all five digits plus the series. Beyond the main prize, the draw spreads smaller amounts across tickets that match various endings and combinations, EL PAÍS reports.
This Wednesday's coupon carried a tribute to IBM España, marking a century of what the source describes as inclusive innovation at the company's Spanish operation.
Why it matters
The Cupón Diario is one of the most widely followed draws on the ONCE calendar, and the Wednesday edition lands in the middle of the working week, when participation across Spain is steady. For players, the appeal is not only the half-million-euro first prize but the layered structure of secondary awards, which means a ticket can return something even without hitting all five digits and the series. EL PAÍS notes that thousands of people across the country wait for the results of each draw.
The tribute element also gives the Wednesday coupon a distinct identity. ONCE regularly dedicates individual coupons to organisations, anniversaries and causes, and the IBM España centenary is the theme for this edition.
How the draw works and where to follow it
The Cupón Diario takes place from Monday to Thursday, starting at 21:25 local time, according to EL PAÍS. Players can follow it live on the official JuegosOnce.es website. Results are also broadcast on La 1 de TVE, in the window between 22:00 and 22:30.
Once the draw closes, the winning numbers can be checked on the ONCE website and on the EL PAÍS site, the publisher reports.
Claiming prizes depends on how the ticket was bought. According to EL PAÍS, winnings from tickets purchased through the official JuegosONCE website are credited automatically to the player's account. For physical coupons, smaller amounts can be collected at authorised sales points, while sums above 500 euros must be handled at ONCE delegations or through partner financial institutions. Prizes exceeding 40,000 euros fall under current tax rules, EL PAÍS reports.
A wider portfolio of ONCE games
The daily coupon is only part of what ONCE operates. The organisation runs special draws around dates such as Father's Day and Mother's Day, alongside its regular weekly schedule, according to EL PAÍS.
Among the recurring games is the Cuponazo, held on Fridays. The Sueldazo Fin de Semana runs on Saturdays and Sundays and combines cash prizes with monthly payments spread over 20 years, EL PAÍS reports. ONCE also offers less frequent products, including the European Eurojackpot and the Triplex, which is played every day with several draws per day.
That range means the Wednesday Cupón Diario sits within a broader weekly rhythm rather than standing alone, with different prize formats attached to different days.
What to watch
Results for the Wednesday 28 October draw are published on the ONCE website and on EL PAÍS after the 21:25 draw, and players holding physical coupons should check the claiming thresholds before heading to a sales point.
