Oil traders are continuing to trust former President Donald Trump’s approach to energy policy, even as crude prices swung sharply this week, according to an analysis by CNN Arabic.
The report, published Monday, argues that market participants remain confident in Trump’s handling of oil supply and geopolitical tensions, despite a more than 4% drop in prices to three-week lows. CNN Arabic’s analysis suggests this trust persists because traders view Trump’s moves as predictable and market-friendly, even when they cause short-term volatility.
Separate reporting from Saudi outlets Sabq and Al Riyadh confirmed the decline, with Brent crude falling sharply on Monday. However, a later report from Asharq Al-Awsat showed prices rebounding about 1% to near $85 a barrel, indicating how quickly sentiment can shift.
Goldman Sachs, cited by Argaam, said it expects Brent to trade between $80 and $90 a barrel, with the range depending heavily on geopolitical developments. That forecast aligns with the CNN Arabic view that the market is pricing in Trump’s influence as a stabilizing factor, even amid conflicting signals.

The key question for traders, according to CNN Arabic, is whether that trust will hold if geopolitical events escalate beyond current levels. The analysis notes that while confidence in Trump remains high for now, it is not unconditional — and any major supply disruption could test that faith quickly.
For now, the market appears to be betting that Trump will prioritize stable oil flows over confrontation, but the coming weeks will show whether that assumption holds.
