The House of Representatives committee investigating the alleged creation of a fake agency has directed the Inspector General of Police to produce Adeniyi Adeyemi for questioning on Wednesday. TheCable reports that the panel issued the order as part of its probe into the Presidential Fiscal Policy Implementation and Coordination Committee (PFIPC).
The committee is investigating claims that forged State House documents were used to establish the PFIPC as a legitimate government body. According to Punch Newspapers, the Accountant-General of the Federation revealed that a forged State House letter was used to create the fake agency. TheCable notes that the panel has uncovered 29 forged documents in connection with the probe.
Multiple media outlets, including Premium Times Nigeria, have reported that former President Muhammadu Buhari did not create the PFIPC. The media organisation stated that the agency was not established during Buhari’s administration, contradicting claims made by those linked to the PFIPC.

Channels Television reports that the House committee has given the IGP 48 hours to produce Adeyemi, who is the disputed Director-General of the PFIPC. The panel is expected to question Adeyemi about his role in the alleged forgery and the use of fake documents to operate the agency.
The IGP is expected to comply with the order and present Adeyemi before the committee on Wednesday. The outcome of the questioning could determine the next steps in the investigation into the forged documents and the legitimacy of the PFIPC.
