Minecraft Live in September 2026 brought several announcements for the block-building game, according to coverage from IGN Deutschland. The headline item is a new dimension arriving in 2027 — the first one added to Minecraft in 15 years, as reported by heise online. ComputerBase likewise describes it as the game's first new playable dimension in more than 14 years.
Alongside the dimension, playcentral.de lists ice caves and something called the Sift among the updates shown during the event. IGN Deutschland's overview rounds up the full set of announcements from the presentation.
XboxDynasty reports that Minecraft has now reached 425 million sales, a figure cited alongside the new content reveals. The sales milestone and the dimension were presented together at the same showcase, according to that outlet.
The dimension news drew attention because Minecraft's existing dimensions — the Overworld, the Nether and the End — have gone unchanged in number for well over a decade. German outlets framed the addition as the most significant structural change to the game in that period.
What to watch next: Mojang has pointed to 2027 for the new dimension's release, so further details on how it will work and when exactly it arrives are likely to follow in the months ahead.
