Benfica coach Marco Silva has made five changes to his starting lineup for the club's away match against Santa Clara in the Azores, according to A Bola. The Portuguese outlet published the eleven Silva selected for the trip on Monday.
The fixture takes Benfica to São Miguel, where the team arrived ahead of the game, Maisfutebol reported alongside images of the squad's arrival. A Bola had earlier described the probable lineup as carrying an unresolved question in midfield.
Silva addressed his selection in comments carried by Record, discussing the return of Durán, an Echeverri clause and two talents he wants to combine in the starting eleven. Record did not elaborate further in the summary available.
Terra also published match details for Santa Clara versus Benfica, including broadcast information, the two lineups and the refereeing appointment.
The five alterations mark a significant rotation from Silva as Benfica prepare for the away fixture in the archipelago. The reporting does not specify which players were dropped or which came into the side beyond the names referenced by Record.
What to watch next: confirmation of the official starting eleven and how Silva's changes perform against Santa Clara.
