Police in Bihar have arrested a man accused of beheading his sister-in-law because she delayed serving him food, according to multiple Indian news outlets including NDTV and the Times of India.

The incident occurred in the Jehanabad district of Bihar state, NDTV reports. The accused, the victim's brother-in-law, allegedly became enraged when the woman was slow to bring him his meal. He then killed her with a sharp weapon and, according to the Times of India, hung her severed head from a banyan tree. India Today added that the woman had served the food with dirt on her hands, which may have contributed to the man's anger.

Local police have arrested the suspect, according to thehawk.in and ETV Bharat. The motive, as reported across all outlets, stemmed from a trivial dispute over the timing and condition of the meal. The victim's identity has not been released in the available reports.
