A man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman whose body was discovered at a property in Finglas, Dublin, according to RTE.ie.
The woman has been named locally as Loredana Morosanu. Her body was found at an address on Melville Terrace shortly after 4.30am on Monday, RTE.ie reports.
An Garda Síochána said on Tuesday that a man in his 40s, who had been arrested as part of the investigation, had been charged. He is expected before a special sitting of Dublin District Court on Tuesday evening.
Reporting on the case has added further context. The Irish Times reports that gardaí believe the woman had been subjected to ongoing violence before her death. The Irish Examiner reports that, hours before she was found, she had posted a photograph of herself showing facial injuries.
The court appearance is the first formal step in the legal process, and the charge follows the arrest and detention of the man by gardaí.
What to watch next: the outcome of Tuesday evening's special court sitting, and any further updates from gardaí as the investigation continues.
