Liverpool are preparing to make an opening offer for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with the Premier League club willing to pay around £100m for the 23-year-old, according to The Times.

The report, published on Wednesday, states that Liverpool are pushing to complete a deal for the France international. The Athletic, Sky Sports, and The Guardian have all reported that the Merseyside club is set to open talks with PSG over a potential transfer. BBC Sport also confirmed that Liverpool is preparing an initial bid.

Barcola has been a key player for PSG since joining from Lyon in 2023. The winger has scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions last season, according to figures cited in multiple reports. His current contract with the Ligue 1 champions runs until 2028.

Liverpool’s interest comes as the club looks to strengthen its attacking options under manager Arne Slot. The proposed fee would make Barcola one of the most expensive signings in Liverpool’s history, matching the club’s record outlay for a player.

PSG have not yet responded to Liverpool’s expected approach, and it remains unclear whether the French club is willing to sell. The Times notes that negotiations are at an early stage.

What to watch next: Whether PSG accept Liverpool’s opening bid or hold out for a higher fee, and how the deal might affect other transfer activity at both clubs.
