Dutch television personality Juvat Westendorp won two celebrity game shows on the same evening, according to reports from AD.nl, RTL.nl and De Orkaan. The wins aired on NPO, the Netherlands' public broadcaster.
TV analyst Tina Nijkamp criticized the network over the scheduling, De Telegraaf reports. She said NPO made a fool of itself by allowing one person to win two celebrity competitions at the same time.
Westendorp himself reacted to the situation. "This is quite crazy, you know," he said, according to AD.nl and RTL.nl.
One of the two wins came on De Meestergids, according to De Orkaan and TVvisie, which both reported the outcome. De Orkaan identified Westendorp as the owner of a dance school in the Zaan region.
The reports do not specify the name of the second program or the exact broadcast date beyond the Wednesday, October 7 timing of the coverage.
The story drew attention from multiple Dutch outlets, with coverage focusing both on the unusual double win and on Nijkamp's criticism of how the public broadcaster arranged its programming.
It is not yet clear whether NPO will respond to Nijkamp's remarks or review how the two programs came to air on the same night.
