A joint team recovered additional victims of the KM Virgo Transport 8 sinking as of Saturday, September 26, according to CNN Indonesia. The vessel's sinking has prompted an ongoing search and recovery operation involving multiple agencies.

Indonesia's National Police (Polri) released an update on the handling of the KM Virgo Transport 8 case, detailing the progress of the response effort. The Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team has identified 41 bodies of victims from the sinking, according to Kumparan.com.

Among those confirmed dead was a man from Solo who had boarded the Virgo using a duplicate identity card, detikNews reported. The Pusdokkes division confirmed that the DVI team at Polda Kalsel is working without breaks to process and identify remains, according to ANTARA News.
