Ireland's state-backed affordable housing agency has set a target of building 13,000 homes by 2030, with the majority of those homes located in the Dublin region, according to The Journal.
The Land Development Agency (LDA) expects to deliver around 1,800 homes this year, as reported by the Irish Independent. The agency's overall pipeline now exceeds 28,000 homes, and it is exploring borrowing of up to €1 billion to fund further development, according to the Business Post.
The LDA's focus has historically been on urban centres, but The Irish Times reports that the agency is now looking beyond cities for potential sites. This shift suggests a broader strategy to address housing supply across the country, though Dublin remains the primary location for the near-term target.

The 13,000-home goal by 2030 represents a significant commitment from the state agency, which was established to accelerate the delivery of affordable housing on public land. The agency's ability to secure financing and navigate planning processes will be key to meeting this deadline.
