Inter Milan beat Feyenoord 3-0 at De Kuip in Rotterdam on Tuesday in the fourth round of matches in the Champions League league phase, while Roma lost 3-2 away to Manchester United after leading by two goals at Old Trafford. Both matches were broadcast live by Sky, according to Sky TG24. The results came on a night when two Italian clubs were in action, with Porto-Napoli and Lens-Como to follow on Wednesday at 21:00.

Why it matters

For Inter, the win was a response to their defeat to Milan in the derby, and it lifted a side coached by Chivu after a difficult result. Roma's loss was a different kind of setback: Gasperini's team controlled the first half in Manchester and then conceded three times after the break, including two late goals from Matheus Cunha.

Inter take control early in Rotterdam

Inter started strongly and were aggressive from the opening minutes, according to Sky TG24's account of the match. Bisseck scored the first goal in the eighth minute. Feyenoord withstood further pressure until the 34th minute, when Esposito made it 0-2. The final goal came in the second half, with Zielinski scoring in the 54th minute to complete the 3-0 result.

Chivu fielded a 3-5-2, with J. Martinez in goal and a back three of Bisseck, Akanji and Carlos Augusto. Spence, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski and Dimarco formed the midfield, with Esposito and Thuram up front. Akanji was replaced by Pavard in the 40th minute of the second half, Calhanoglu made way for Mkhitaryan in the 12th, and Barella and Zielinski were replaced by Sucic and Stankovic in the 33rd. Bonny came on for Thuram in the 12th minute of the second half.

Feyenoord, coached by Giovanni Van Bronckhorst, lined up in a 4-3-3 with Ernst in goal and a defence of Read, Kraaijeveld, Marmol and Javi Lopez. Zechiel, Vanhoutte and Targhalline played in midfield, with Hadj Moussa, Ferri and Valente in attack. Read, Kraaijeveld and Javi Lopez were all substituted in the second half, as were Vanhoutte and Ferri.

Calhanoglu was booked for a foul, while Akanji and Zechiel were cautioned for unsporting behaviour, according to the report.

Roma's two-goal lead slips away at Old Trafford

Roma dominated the first half at Old Trafford, Sky TG24 reported. Soulé opened the scoring in the 11th minute and Malen doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 17th. The match changed after the interval. Manchester United's first goal came from a Fernandes penalty in the 58th minute, which brought the home side back into the game.

The second half was closely contested until the closing stages. Cunha equalised in the 83rd minute and then scored the winning goal in the 86th, completing the turnaround for Carrick's team.

Gasperini set Roma up in a 3-4-2-1 with Vasquez in goal and Mancini, Balerdi and Hermoso in defence. Rensch was replaced by Lulli in the 21st minute of the first half. Cristante, De Roon and Wesley played in midfield, with Soulé and Mora behind Malen. Mora was replaced by Pisilli at the start of the second half, Mancini made way for Ghilardi in the 30th minute, Hermoso was replaced by Ndicka in the 31st and Malen by Castro in the 33rd.

Manchester United, coached by Carrick, used a 4-2-3-1 with Lammens in goal and Dalot, Maguire, Heaven and Yoro in defence. Baleba and Mainoo played in midfield, with Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes and Diallo supporting Matheus Cunha. Maguire was replaced by de Ligt in the 44th minute, Baleba by Tielemans in the sixth minute of the second half and Bruno Fernandes by Mount in the 44th.

Malen, Lulli, Heaven and Maguire were booked for fouls, while Soulé and Bruno Fernandes were cautioned for unsporting behaviour, according to Sky TG24.
