Honor has announced the Magic 9 Pro Max, a flagship phone built around a co-branded camera system and a large battery, according to The Verge. The launch also includes the standard Magic 9 and a Magic 9 Super Edition, GSMArena reports. The announcement was covered on Monday, September 28, 2026.
The Pro Max's imaging setup is a joint effort between Honor and ARRI, the cinema camera company. Newsshooter reports that the two brands announced the device together, while PhoneArena described the camera arrangement as an "Academy Award-worthy" setup. The Verge's headline points to a big camera and an even larger battery, though specific sensor and battery figures were not available in the source material.
Honor also used the launch to introduce teleconverters for smartphones. According to huaweicentral.com, the company released 500mm and 200mm teleconverter accessories, which would extend the reach of the phone's optics for long-distance shooting.
The Magic 9 Pro Max sits at the top of a three-model lineup. GSMArena lists the Magic 9 and Magic 9 Super Edition as the other two devices announced. Full specifications, pricing, and regional availability have not been detailed in the reporting summarized here.
