A gas cylinder exploded at a house in Nkulumane, tearing the roof from the building, according to Herald.co.zw. The outlet reported the incident on Sunday, 18 October 2026.
The report names the suburb but gives no further detail on the property, the people inside at the time, or the extent of the damage beyond the roof. It also does not say what caused the cylinder to fail.
Herald.co.zw published only a headline and brief summary of the event, so the circumstances surrounding the blast remain unclear from the available reporting.
Gas cylinder explosions are a recognised household hazard, though the source material does not address causes, safety guidance or prior incidents in the area. Any such context would go beyond what has been reported.
What to watch next: whether Herald.co.zw or local authorities release further information on injuries, damage or the cause of the explosion.
