According to the National Post, former Liberal MP Raj Grewal is facing fresh fraud allegations. The outlet reports that Grewal allegedly promised to repay millions of dollars only on the condition that lenders did not file a complaint with the Law Society of Ontario.
The allegations stem from a broader investigation into a $30 million mortgage and real estate fraud, as reported by The Pointer. That outlet described the situation as “a big mistake” by Grewal, citing evidence presented to the Law Society. Grewal, who previously served as the MP for Brampton East, was acquitted in a separate gambling-related probe, per INsauga.
The Globe and Mail reports that Grewal now faces a potential law licence suspension amid these fraud allegations. The Law Society of Ontario has also suspended a lawyer at a firm founded by Grewal, according to The Pointer, which noted an “avalanche of evidence” pointing to massive fraud.

The case continues to unfold as regulators review the evidence against the former MP and his associates.
