Five women-led businesses in Ghana have received grants totalling GH₵567,500 under the Standard Chartered Women in Tech programme, according to CitiNewsroom.com.
The awards were announced as ten female entrepreneurs graduated from the Standard Chartered Foundation Women in Tech Accelerator in Ghana, CitiNewsroom.com reports. Modern Ghana and MyJoyOnline also reported the graduation of the ten participants.
The five recipients were selected as the top entrepreneurs in the cohort. Dealroom reported that the grants work out to roughly $9,900 each, based on its conversion of the cedi figure.
Tech Review Africa also covered the grant awards, identifying the recipients as women-led businesses operating under the programme.

The accelerator forms part of Standard Chartered's wider effort to support female founders in the technology sector, though the reporting available did not include further details on the individual businesses, their sectors or the selection process.
What to watch next: whether the programme confirms details of the next cohort or opens applications for a new round of participants.
