Candidates are spending the final days before the 2026 midterm elections campaigning across battleground states, according to Politico's live coverage of the races. Both parties used the closing stretch to make their last appeals to voters, The Washington Post reported.
Coverage from Fox News described candidates spreading out across competitive areas as the election entered its final weekend, with three days remaining at that point. NPR reported that several key races appeared to be very close as Election Day drew near, and Yahoo also reported on candidates' final push for votes.
The outlets' summaries do not include specific race ratings, polling figures or named contests, so the precise shape of the battlefield remains unclear from this material alone. What the reporting does show is a compressed endgame: national and local attention focused on a handful of tight contests, with both parties treating the last days as a chance to sway undecided voters.
Politico is carrying running updates on the midterms as they unfold.
What to watch next: results and turnout figures as they come in on and after Election Day, and whether the races described as close resolve narrowly or by wider margins.
