Barcelona left the Estadio Metropolitano with a 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in LaLiga, according to detikSport. The visitors fell behind early but turned the match around through two goals from Fermin Lopez.

The game was played on Monday, 9 November 2026, early morning Jakarta time. The first half ended level at 1-1, and Fermin's second goal after the break settled the contest.

The result keeps Barcelona at the top of the Spanish league table. detikSport reports that the Blaugrana lead with 33 points from 12 matches, while Atletico sit third on 28 points.

Why it matters

The match was billed by Tirto.id as a fight for the top of the table, and the outcome left Barcelona clear at the summit while Atletico stayed behind in third. A win away at one of the league's strongest sides strengthens Barcelona's position at this stage of the campaign.

For Atletico, the defeat came despite taking the lead inside ten minutes. Goal.com reported that the club's president told Julian Alvarez to make amends by scoring twice against Barcelona. Alvarez did provide the assist for Atletico's goal, but he could not add a goal of his own, and the home side could not respond after falling behind.

How the comeback unfolded

Atletico went in front in the 10th minute. A move down the left ended with Alvarez sending the ball across, and Giuliano Simeone finished it in front of goal, detikSport reports.

Barcelona looked for an equaliser through Lamine Yamal, who carried the ball past several Atletico defenders inside the penalty area before getting a shot away. Jan Oblak was able to deal with it.

Alvarez then had a chance of his own, receiving the ball in the box and hitting a low drive. He had room to shoot but could not beat Joan Garcia in the Barcelona goal.

The equaliser arrived in the 45th minute. Fermin struck the ball firmly from inside the penalty area and it flew into the Atletico net, sending the teams in level at the break.

Fermin completed the turnaround in the 66th minute. Yamal threaded a pass through the Atletico defence and Fermin converted it to put Barcelona ahead.

Atletico pushed for a reply over the remaining minutes but could not find one, and the visitors held on for the three points.

The line-ups

Atletico Madrid, per detikSport: Jan Oblak; Marcos Llorente, David Hancko, Marc Pubill, Alex Grimaldo; Koke, Pablo Barrios, Alex Baena; Kang-In Lee, Julian Alvarez, Giuliano Simeone.

Atletico made changes in the second half, with Alexander Sorloth replacing Kang-In Lee on the hour, and Morten Hjulmand and Johnny Cardoso coming on for Koke and Baena in the 72nd minute. Barrios made way for David in the 78th.

Barcelona, per detikSport: Joan Garcia; Brian Farinas, Pau Cubarsi, Gerard Martin, Joao Cancelo; Pedri, Marc Bernal, Fermin; Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Anthony Gordon.

Barcelona also rotated after the interval. Frenkie de Jong came on for Farinas at half-time, and Andreas Christensen replaced Cancelo on the hour. Eric Garcia and Gavi took over from Bernal and Fermin in the 74th minute, while Karim Adeyemi came on for Gordon in the 86th.

What to watch

Barcelona's lead at the top now stands at five points over Atletico, with the season still in its early months. The next question is whether Atletico can close that gap in the coming fixtures, and whether Fermin's scoring form continues for the leaders.
