A shooting in Calabria, southern Italy, left one person dead and another seriously injured early on Friday, according to Italian news agency ANSA.
The attack took place at dawn in Cassano allo Ionio, a town in the province of Cosenza. Gunfire erupted outside a bar in the Lauropoli area, ANSA reported. The victim has been identified by Sky TG24 as Giuseppe Scorza. The second man, whose condition is described as grave, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The incident carries a notable backstory. Sky TG24 and Giornale di Brescia both report that Scorza’s father was killed in 2022, along with his mother.
