BORN FOR GREATNESS
(You Carry God’s Potential)
Friday, 30 October
TO THE BIBLE Genesis 12:2
“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.”
The final stretch of the competition was here.
Kemi’s preparation was complete. The language of limitation had been corrected. She had practised who she was in Christ. Yet as the day settled, a quieter question tried to surface the kind that asks whether all of this will actually matter, whether a teenager’s life can truly carry weight beyond the next exam or the next deadline.
She shut the question down before it could take root.
At the table Tobi watched her set her materials in order with unusual calm.
“You’re not nervous,” he said. “You’re settled.”

“I’m remembering who I am,” Kemi replied. “In royal families, princes and princesses receive their status by birth, not by first accomplishing something extraordinary. They may still be young and learning, but their position is not earned through achievement. Their behaviour is expected to reflect the position they have been given. The same is true for me in God’s family.”
She looked up.
“Greatness didn’t start with me trying to become something. It started with God’s decision. If I am Christ’s, then I am Abraham’s seed and an heir according to the promise. The seed of greatness is already in my spirit. Therefore I ought to do great things. Great people do great things. As a teenager I may not always feel ‘great.’ I am still figuring out school, friendships, purpose, and the future. But greatness is not about age. It is about identity.”
Tobi nodded slowly. “So you’re not waiting to feel ready before you live like it.”
“Exactly,” Kemi said. “God’s Spirit lives in me. I carry divine potential. I am not ordinary and I am not random. I refuse to think small or act small. I will not say, ‘I’m just a kid’ or ‘I can’t do much right now.’ Greatness shows up in how I think, how I talk, how I treat people, and how seriously I take my dreams. It shows in my discipline, my faith, and my courage to stand for what is right. I belong to God’s family a family known for faith, boldness, and exploits.”
She spoke it clearly:
“I am born for greatness. The Spirit of God lives in me. I refuse to think small or act small. I will do great and mighty things that bring God glory.”

Later that day she chose one ordinary task organising the final set of notes for a classmate who was still struggling and did it with the mindset of greatness: excellent, thorough, and as unto the Lord. It was not large. It was deliberate. It matched the identity she had chosen to walk in.
On the way home Tobi glanced at her.
“You’re not just preparing for a contest anymore. You’re living like someone who already carries the potential.”
Kemi nodded. “Because I do. Greatness is not something I am chasing. It is something I was born with. And I am done thinking small about what God has already placed in me.”
The competition still stood ahead. The final day still required focus. But the question of whether her life would matter had been answered long before the results would be announced.
She was born for greatness.
And she was living like it.
