The Egyptian Red Crescent has dispatched its 262nd aid convoy, named "Ziad al-Ezza," carrying 2,720 tonnes of humanitarian supplies destined for Gaza, according to the Egyptian outlet Al-Watan.
The convoy's departure was reported on Sunday, August 23, 2026. The shipment includes food, medical supplies, and other essential relief items, as detailed by Al-Watan. The aid is being routed through the Rafah crossing, a key entry point for humanitarian assistance into the blockaded territory.
The move is part of a broader, ongoing Egyptian effort to sustain deliveries to Gaza amid continued hostilities in the region. In a related report, Youm7 stated that Egypt has sent a total of 3,145 tonnes of aid across multiple "Ziad al-Ezza" convoys, underscoring the scale of the operation. Separately, Al-Shorouk noted that Red Crescent teams at Rafah have received the 78th batch of wounded and sick Palestinians for medical treatment.

The convoys have become a regular feature of Egypt's humanitarian response, with Masrawy reporting that the 263rd convoy has already begun moving from Egypt into Gaza, also loaded with relief supplies. The consistent flow of aid reflects a sustained logistical effort by Egyptian authorities and the Red Crescent to address urgent needs in Gaza.
The situation on the ground remains tense, with Sada El-Balad describing both an ongoing aid bridge and continued escalation in the Palestinian territories. As aid deliveries continue, the focus will remain on whether the volume of supplies can keep pace with the scale of need, and whether access through Rafah remains open amid the broader conflict.
