The stand-off at Drumcree has now run for seven days, and rival rallies are being organised on both sides of the dispute, according to The Irish Times. The paper reports the demonstrations are being planned as the impasse continues.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland says it is still "seeking compliance" with the Parades Commission, The Journal reports. The Taoiseach has appealed for calm at Drumcree, according to the same outlet.

Coverage of the situation has extended beyond the immediate events. The Irish Times published analysis from Pat Leahy examining what Northern Ireland's swing "persuadables" make of Drumcree. Separately, The Irish News carried a column by John Manley arguing that Sinn Féin's expected strong showing at the polls next May will owe something to the DUP.

RTE also reported that rival rallies are being arranged while the stand-off goes on.

The details available so far are limited to these reports, and no resolution has been announced. The coming days will show whether the planned rallies go ahead and whether the PSNI's stated approach of seeking compliance produces any movement at the site.
