A drone struck travellers on a train platform in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, killing at least 14 people, according to Hufvudstadsbladet – HBL. The attack took place on Thursday, the outlet reports.

Images shared on social media by Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, show bodies lying among debris and smoke on an outdoor platform, HBL reports.

In a separate incident elsewhere in the country, two teenage girls were killed by a cruise missile, according to the same outlet.

The reporting from HBL does not specify the exact time of the Dnipro strike or identify the type of drone involved. It also does not give further details on the missile attack that killed the two girls, including the location.

Both incidents add to the toll on civilians from aerial attacks across Ukraine. Dnipro, one of the country's largest cities, has been hit repeatedly during the war, and railway stations have served as key transit points for passengers and evacuation traffic.

The images released by Zelenskyy were described by HBL as showing the aftermath on the platform, with wreckage and smoke around the victims.

Further information on casualties, the circumstances of the strikes and any official response is expected to emerge in the coming hours.
