A Cork man who disappeared more than three decades ago has been found dead in the United Kingdom, according to the Irish Examiner.
Patrick "Patsy" O'Sullivan had been missing since 1992. The Irish Examiner reported on Tuesday that he has now been located deceased. Further details of where or when he was found were not included in the reporting.
The case drew coverage from several Irish outlets. The Journal reported that the discovery was made in the UK and described the outcome as "a closure" for the family. The Irish Independent, which also covered the story, reported relatives saying they know he had a happy life. Cork Beo described the case as a mystery that ended in tragedy after 34 years.
RadioKerry.ie reported that the body of a man who went missing from Kerry over 30 years ago had been found, in an account that appears to relate to the same case.
The reports do not state the circumstances of Mr O'Sullivan's death, and no cause has been given in the material available.
The family's wait of 34 years is now over, with relatives publicly describing the outcome as closure after a search that spanned both Ireland and the UK.
It is not yet clear whether a formal identification process, an inquest, or any further statement from An Garda Síochána will follow.
