CNN en Español is running a live news feed on the US midterm elections, covering polling, debates and the races considered pivotal, the outlet reported on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The Spanish-language broadcaster said its rolling coverage also gathers other election-related developments as they emerge.
Among the stories carried in that feed, La Jornada reported that the killing of a Mexican migrant is fueling anti-Trump voting sentiment in Texas. The same roundup cited the Bipartisan Policy Center, a think tank, outlining what it considers the central factors in the US contests, according to Central Electoral INE. El Financiero contributed an explainer on why the midterm vote carries particular weight.
Polling points to a possible Democratic advantage in the House of Representatives. According to El Comentario, surveys suggest Democrats could secure their widest majority in the chamber since 2009. That projection was reported as part of the broader coverage compiled by CNN en Español and has not been confirmed by results.
Midterm elections are held between presidential contests, and control of Congress is at stake. The material reviewed does not specify individual race outcomes or final seat projections beyond the survey findings attributed to El Comentario.
What to watch next: whether the polling cited by El Comentario holds as votes are counted, and how the Texas contest develops following La Jornada's reporting.
