Organizers of the Changchun 2027 Winter World University Games marked the 100-day countdown to the event on October 7 with a themed ceremony in Changchun, Jilin Province, where they revealed the Games' torch, medals, official clothing and promotional song, according to 中国青年报.
The torch was presented under the name "Jixiang," 中国青年报 reports. The medals carry the name "Jimeng," a title that organizers tied to the Games' slogan, which calls on young athletes to pursue their dreams on the ice and snow while keeping their youth alive. The naming is intended to express good wishes for competitors chasing and achieving their goals at the event, the report said.
According to 中国青年报, the medal design centers on the idea of an enduring Chinese sentiment — described as a Changchun memory that athletes can carry with them. The design combines elements of traditional Chinese culture, features of winter sports, the local character of Changchun and digital innovation technology.
The ceremony took place in Changchun, the host city in northeast China, as the countdown to the 33rd edition of the Winter World University Games reached its final 100 days. The reporting on the event was published by 中国青年报, with photography by Xinhua reporter Xu Chang.
With the unveiling complete, attention now turns to the remaining preparations in Changchun as the city moves toward hosting the Games.
