Catalonia will begin its joint flu and COVID-19 vaccination campaign on Monday, 5 October, according to COPE. The regional health authority is directing the drive at the most vulnerable groups in the population.
Appointments can be requested for the campaign, EL PAÍS reports.
According to El Periódico, the Catalan health department, Salut, believes COVID-19 has stopped "growing", but has warned that the flu strains expected this season are new, adding that people need to be vaccinated.
La Razón reports that a change in strains has pushed back the vaccination calendar.
The campaign combines protection against both influenza and COVID-19 in a single rollout, with eligibility and booking details set out by the regional authorities.
What to watch next: whether the strain change leads to further adjustments to the schedule, and how quickly the vulnerable groups targeted by the campaign come forward for their appointments.
