Captain Smit Machchhar has been airlifted from Saudi Arabia to a hospital in Dubai, according to NDTV. The transfer was reported by the outlet on Thursday, 1 October 2026.
NDTV did not give further details in the material available, including the captain's condition, the reason for the airlift, or the name of the Dubai facility receiving him. The report also did not specify where in Saudi Arabia he had been before the move.
The airlift places Machchhar under medical care in the United Arab Emirates after his time in the kingdom. NDTV's headline describes the transfer as an airlift, indicating he was flown rather than moved by road, though the outlet has not yet set out the circumstances behind that decision.
Further updates from NDTV or other outlets are expected to clarify Machchhar's condition and the events leading up to his transfer.
